Your Plexiglass Barrier Installation Questions Answered

As businesses reopen in the post-coronavirus era, steps are being taken for today’s new normal — including installation of plexiglass barriers to help stop the spread of COVID-19 as well as comply with social distancing requirements.

For months now, Miller Builders has worked non-stop to produce plexiglass barriers — also known as sneeze guards — to ensure a safe face-to-face experience. We’ve been quick to support many dental and medical offices, in addition to numerous types of retailers throughout Northeast Ohio. With both custom and ready-made shielding solutions, we have the plexiglass barrier answer to best suit your environment.

Here are some of the top questions every business should consider before installing sneeze guards:

Plexiglass Sneeze Guard

How long will we need sneeze guards?

While no one knows how long COVID-19 will affect our economy, many of our customers are leaning toward temporary shielding solutions due to both preference and convenience. Our standard plexiglass shields measure 34” wide x 31” high, and meet OSHA standards. Produced in our facility with tailored CAD (Computer Aided Design) planning, we can accommodate your needs with both standard and customized securely installed temporary plexiglass barriers that avoid damage to your counter surfaces.

How long does it take to install (and remove) a plexiglass barrier?

Once we take measurements and complete production of the barrier at our facility, it takes just over 15 minutes to install each shield onsite. After attaching custom-sized plastic polymer base blocks with two-sided tape, the shield is then placed into the base. By securing the base with silicone, the caulk can be easily and safely removed with a straight edge razor — all without damaging the surface.

How can we safely clean our sneeze guards and how durable are they?

While you should avoid using solvents to clean plexiglass barriers, the screens are easily maintained with mild soap and water. Overall, certain configurations, including installation height and product stability, are important factors for maintenance and durability of the end product.

Will our check-out experience and register configuration affect our plexiglass barrier options?

Your check-out configuration plays a major component to sneeze guard installation. We work closely with you to determine the best option for optimum and easy customer engagement experience. Whether it’s hanging from ceilings, fixed, fully mounted solutions or temporary solutions, we can provide the best safety solution.
